Myania Moses and Associates Occupational Therapy Fall Group Sessions

Mediated Learning and Instrumental Enrichment (Basic Program)
For 5-6 year olds:

Mondays 2:00 p.m.-2:50 p.m
Beginning Monday, October 6, 2008
Cost: $85.00/session

Run by Myania Moses OTR/L and Stacey Weinstein OTR/L
in our Falls Church Office.

Limited enrollment to 4-5 children, this group will run for the school year, with periodic breaks around the public school calendar.

Goals of the group will be to:

Foster problem solving individually and within the group
To improve the child’s ability to identify their own and other’s emotional states through use of the Basic Tool: Identification of Emotions
To improve planning skills
To improve regulation and attention
To improve social reciprocity
To improve fine and visual motor skills
To improve executive functioning skills

This group is appropriate for children with ADHD, high functioning ASD, and fine/visual/sensory motor deficits. It is not meant to replace regular weekly therapy appointments, but rather is an appropriate adjunct to therapy for those looking for a more interaction with peers in a small supportive environment. Children must be ready for more than a one on one interaction to be appropriate for this group. If you are new to this practice we may need to have a brief interview session to assess the “goodness of fit” for this group.
