Our Relationships with our clients, parents, caregivers,
colleagues and community set us apart from other practices. We
believe that the child who enjoys coming to therapy and feels
accepted for who she/he is with regard to their strengths and
weaknesses will make the most progress. We attempt to provide a
safe and nurturing place where parents can give voice to their
concerns regarding their child’s development. Many of our
clients require other services besides occupational therapy. We
believe in an interdisciplinary model of treatment, to that end,
we develop and maintain strong relationships with our colleagues
in the community at large. We are current with regard to best
practice models and research within the field of pediatric
occupational therapy. Our clinic services reflect this knowledge
with regard to evaluations, direct services and consultation.
We are able to provide this high level of service due to our
strong belief in continuing professional development. We have
weekly staff meetings that incorporate an educational component.
Our clinicians go for professional development training
throughout the year. For parents, we have a bulletin board in
our waiting room with community services, work shops and
outreach services. We are always happy to recommend books and
journal articles for interested parents. We recognize that many
of our clients receive services besides occupational therapy. In
order to facilitate an understanding of these disciplines and
foster a team approach to treating children, we coordinate
networking and educational opportunities with our colleagues in
the professional community.
